Google Play Store, Android Market a New Name

GOOGLE online store renames Google Android Market to Play Store. Android Market since Tuesday (6/3) and then renamed by Google as a new imaging effort to compete with Apple's online store and Amazon.

For users who still access the Android Market in the URL Address Bar in perambahnya, will be directly connected to the new URL Google Play, which is play.google.com / store. The changes are also intended to make Google users know that Google Play not only provides applications for Android phones and tablet computers only.

Director of Engineering for Digital Content Android, Chris Yerga said, "People think the Android Market Android applications provide only because they saw a green colored robot logo on the website."

Google Play is actually an online application store that sells music, books, software, and other digital objects such as Apple's Apps Store. In Indonesia, Google Play or formerly called the Android Market only provides applications for Android devices only, while others are only available in some areas such as the United States.

Yerga also said Google's goal is to make its online store is more and more visited by many people. "Maybe later users who like to buy a song or a nerd can understand that they can look for movies or games on Google Play," added Yerga.

Android is the most widely used operating system in the smart phone Motorola, Samsung, HTC, and others have 450 thousand applications made by third parties.

Several years ago, Google announced they not only provide the application, but also books, music, film, and others to compete with Apple and Amazon.
