ZTE Reject Patent War

Provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, ZTE Corporation has 110 thousand local and international patents.

However, despite their intellectual property rights that make this company a patent owner of the largest in China, ZTE claims will not use patents to attack other companies.

As is known, a patent war between technology companies are currently busy lately.

"ZTE will not use patents to attack other companies. In fact, we have a technology transfer system that allows our technology is used by other companies on a lease," said Wang Haibo obviously, Senior Vice President for Law and Legal affairs ZTE, in a teleconference at the office ZTE Indonesia, Tuesday (03/13/2012).

Haibo added, ZTE will only require a company to legal recourse, if the company wants to master the technology ZTE.

For example, patented technology that has been registered by ZTE, and then re-filed patent claims on behalf of other companies, without the permission of ZTE.

If the patent is still limited to the use of technology, ZTE will resolve the dispute between companies internally.

"A patent may be associated with other technologies that also has its own patent. Intersection patent like this can still be resolved before it reported to the law," said Haibo.

To issue a patent, ZTE claims seriously. ZTE has always menginvesikan 10 percent of income per year for research and development, including taking care of patent registration.

Internally, ZTE has been researching and comply with before a patent is registered internationally.


At present, ZTE has hired 30 thousand experienced researchers, as well as operates 15 research centers spread across China, France, India, Sweden and the United States.
